We have been honored to work with amazing brides to create their dream wedding flowers and we wanted to showcase some of our brides and their weddings. Nicola, Stephanie and Lauren have provided some great advice for future brides. Below their stories you’ll find all the information you need to create your perfect wedding package.
Stephanie contacted our FarmGate Flowers Facebook page and organised all her wedding flowers online. It was such a great experience for us to work with an "online bride" as well as getting to meet Stephanie and see her gorgeous personality reflect in her flowers.
It has been a pleasure meeting with Nicola and Lauren in person and getting to know the beautiful characters they are. We were so happy to create wedding flowers that were both so beautiful and unqiue in color, style and design. These brides looked stunning and we wish them all the happiness in the world.
The three weddings we chose were so outstandingly unique and perfectly suited each couple’s personalitites. At the beginning of 2017, we were happy to experience a first… Wedding flowers booked entirely online via Facebook with just a few phone calls to finalize. Since then we have had a few weddings organized in this manner. All of the weddings we did were so beautiful that it was difficult to choose which ones to feature.
We hope you love the ones we are showcasing as much as we do.
Ben and I met in early 2014 through mutual friends while on a waterskiing getaway. We got engaged in 2016 when Ben proposed to me after we both jumped out of a perfectly good plane. Ben was very romantic and popped the question down on one knee after skydiving at Redcliff beach. We got married on 22 September 2017 at Preston Peak Winery and it truly was the best day of our lives.
We had the most wonderful people by our sides including our bridal party, parents, families and friends. Our venue was spectacular along with all the vendors that we chose. Westridge Florist created our lovely bouquets which were beautiful bright arrangements of roses, carnations and an assortment of greenery.
Planning a wedding can be an overwhelming process, but my tips for future brides would be to enjoy every moment of your wedding day. Take time to look around and enjoy the company of the special people who are there celebrating with you, take time to look into your husband’s eyes and celebrate the event that you both created and take time to dance, laugh and be a fabulous and happy bride!
Jay and I got engaged and then found out we were expecting another child so we rushed our plans a little and were only engaged for about 8 weeks. We were married on the 13th of October 2017.
Our friend Doug who is the youth pastor at the Christian Outreach Church married us and his wife Beck did all of our photos. We had about 40 people to our reception which we had at home. My mum and I love to cook so we decided to do the catering ourselves.
I bought my wedding dress online from a company called JJShouse who make the dress to your sizes. I needed to do this as we didn’t have time to get one from a bridal store and the ones I could buy off the shelf weren’t great for a growing pregnant belly! So as I ended up with a grayish dress I really wanted some bright flowers.
I used to have a wedding business so I’m pretty good at being savvy but I also didnt feel I needed a big hotel wedding. I really saved money by going with private hire places who were able to be flexible with their prices.
Also catering ourselves saved us a bomb! DIY as much as you can, not just the small stuff like decorations (you often end up spending just as much making these). Avoid venues that don’t let you take in your own caterer because they always charge little extras. It all adds up and it’s so much nicer not to go into any debt over your wedding.
To the team at Westridge Florist, thank you so much for our beautiful flowers for our wedding day. We were completely taken care of from Bouquets, Centrepieces, Main Displays, Men’s suits and Parents of the Bride and Groom. We absolutely loved our flowers and were grateful for your input and guidance in choosing our flowers and colours.
We married on the 28th October 2017 at Preston Peak Winery and had the most relaxed and wonderful day to reminisce about for the rest of our lives. We have been together for almost 5 years and live in Toowoomba with our 2 fur babies. Ben proposed at our home on the 27th July 2016 over a home cooked meal.
To future brides I would say the most important advice I received on the day was to take it all in – listen to the music, smell the flowers, take in the surroundings, take a moment to enjoy the day with your partner and breathe.
It is over so quickly and often a blur and I was so blessed for this to be said. I would also say leading up to the wedding don’t stress about the little things, the little things you didn’t buy or do for example, as the guests won’t even know it’s missing. Plus we both agree getting a videographer was a great investment, we were able to see moments that we missed and watch the guests interact it was great.
