Our florist lessons are designed as an affordable way for you to learn some great techniques, here in Toowoomba. Who are our ten lesson courses suitable for?
They are suitable for anyone who loves nature, flowers and creating. You do not have to have any previous experience to commence your florist lessons: you just have to want to learn and we will teach you. If you do have some experience, we are happy to share our professional tips.
You will receive a certificate of competency for each module of the florist lessons that you complete. - Learn to make a simple arrangement in oasis
- Learn to strauss a bouquet of flowers and gift wrapped.
- How to make a professional bow to add to arrangement and bouquet.
- Wiring techniques and you get to make a flower crown to take home. (babys breath and gum)
- You also get a certificate of completion, which you may add to your resume.
Lesson Two
- Refresh a strauss bouquet and arrangement
- Design and make a modern arrangement.
- Learn how Balance and Space apply to floristry.
- Wire a corsage and buttonhole to take home.
- You also get a certificate of completion, which you may add to your resume.
Lesson Three
- Refresh strauss bouquet and arrangement.
- Do a line arrangement.
- Discuss height width and depth and how it applies to floristry.
- Learn to wire flowers for a hair comb to wear home.
- You also get a certificate of completion, which you may add to your resume.
Lesson Four
- Refresh strauss bouquet and arrangement
- Learn how to construct a tropical arrangement.
- Learn about pattern and placement of flowers
- Wire different flower heads, which you may take home.
- You also get a certificate of completion, which you may add to your resume.
Lesson Five
- At this stage we shall apply the skills you have practiced and do a low table arrangement. This is a more complex design.
- We shall then do another flower crown but will add some more elements to it. This will be suitable for a wedding, baby shoot or christening.
- You also get a certificate of completion, which you may add to your resume.
Lesson Six
- Make a native arrangement
- Learn about texture, soft, shiny, fury, thin, and different shapes
- How to add different elements, sticks, fruit, feathers, shells, nuts, cones, seed pods, dodda vine sphagnum moss etc.
- Make a spear grass ladder, spear grass loops etc
- You also get a certificate of completion, which you may add to your resume.
Lesson Seven
- Assemble a wired cake topper using fern, spray roses, greenery, ribbon and filler flower to keep and take home.
- Learn about the scale and proportion of arrangements, bouquets, oasis cages and vases.
- You also get a certificate of completion, which you may add to your resume.
Lesson Eight
- Make a basket arrangement.
- Assemble a gift wrapped single flower to take home.
- Learn how to store flowers correctly. How to choose the best and freshest blooms
- You also get a certificate of completion, which you may add to your resume.
Lesson Nine
- How to gift wrap single flowers (one to take home )
- Make a funeral sheaf.
- Discuss how to use the techniques you have learnt to make a casket spray.
- Learn how to take awesome photos of flowers on your phone.
- Learn how to use the colour wheel when designing with flowers
- Practice bow making and learn some different techniques
Lesson Ten
- Make a Christmas arrangement and how to add different elements baubles etc.. We shall then make a Christmas halo for you to gift or wear.
- And as this is the last of the ten week course you may ask to refresh and practice any of the techniques you have learnt
