Purchase your sunflowers before they are fully opened. This will ensure that you get good vase life from them. As an added bonus you will get to see them bloom and observe how they will follow the light, always seeking the sun. The best water to use is tank or purified water and use your flower food sachet. When the sunflowers are fully bloomed the best way to keep them fresh is to change your water daily, add a few drops of bleach and recut the stems each time.
