What does it mean to be a florist on Mother’s day? Well, we don’t get to sleep in, we don’t get breakfast in bed, and we never get flowers delivered by our kids. Of course, it’s not just us that work hard, our local farmers and couriers join us in the madness, spending weeks of long days and late nights preparing for the rush that is Mother’s Day. We recruit our husbands and children to pitch in and help with anything from ribbon and box making to last-minute deliveries to ensure all our customers looked after.
For us, Mother’s Day is hard work. But it is honestly one of the most rewarding days in our industry. Every year we help our customers show their Mums, Stepmums, Aunty’s, Grandmothers and Nana’s just how special they are and how much we appreciate them by creating beautiful bouquets and arrangements. Mother’s day flowers bring so much joy not only to our customers placing the orders and their Mum’s receiving them but also to us. Mother’s day flowers are our favourite creations, as we strive to express our customer’s appreciation for the millions of reasons why we love our Mums! Although flower arrangements don’t last forever, the memory of receiving them lasts a lifetime.
Westridge Florist has been operating for 18 years, delivering hundreds of beautiful flowers for the Mums, not only of Toowoomba and surrounding areas but worldwide, every year. We love helping our customers from far away places like New York, the Netherlands and the Philippines, send their Mum a mother’s day surprise.
Here are some of our best tips for sending Mother’s Day flowers-
The first one addresses your flowers early, they will be fresh and last until Sunday and beyond but you will get in before the rush, and our florists appreciate having a bit extra time to create exceptional flowers. An early delivery will ensure you catch your Mum by complete surprise & she will have her flowers all week to enjoy. By sending your flowers early, you will also have a greater variety of blooms to choose.
Our next tip is to pick an in-season bloom like carnations to go with your central flower of choice. This is a cost-effective way to fill out your arrangement and add extra colour. Our final tip for sending Mother’s day flowers is to have your message on your card and your Mum’s best delivery address ready when you place your order. This saves you having to call back as well as eliminates mistakes.
Thank you from everyone at Westridge Florist for supporting our business over the past 18 years and allowing us to be a part of this beautiful celebration and a Special Happy Mother’s Day to all our Mums!
